Installation Guide for Ice Cube Machine

Learn how to installation your ice cube manufacturing machine



In modern restaurants, hotels, medical and commercial places, ice cube machines have become indispensable equipment due to their efficient and stable ice-making capabilities. However, improper installation will not only affect the performance of the machine, but may also shorten its service life and even increase the risk of failure. Choose a Suitable Installation Location


· The installation environment of the cube ice machine directly affects its operating efficiency, so the following points should be noted:


· Good ventilation: Avoid places with high temperatures and direct sunlight, ensure sufficient air circulation around the machine, and avoid high temperature environments causing the compressor to overheat.


· Sufficient space: Reserve sufficient operation and maintenance space for daily maintenance and repair


· Avoid heat sources: Avoid being close to other heating equipment to avoid affecting the cooling effect.


Ensure Stable Water and Electricity Supply



The ice cube machine requires a stable water source and power support when running. Therefore, please be sure to confirm the following points before installation


Water source requirements: Ensure that the water source is sufficient and the pressure is moderate to avoid shutdown due to water outage or insufficient water pressure. It is recommended to install a water quality filter to remove impurities in the water, which can not only improve the taste of ice products, but also reduce scale accumulation and reduce maintenance frequency.


Power supply matching: three-phase AC380V/50Hz. (The corresponding voltage can be used according to customer needs) Voltage variation range: rated voltage ±10% or less. Ensure the stability of the power supply and be equipped with dedicated lines and leakage protection devices.


Set Up a Drainage System


Reasonable drainage design is very important to keep the working environment clean and the equipment running normally. The following matters need to be noted


Drain pipe installation: The drain pipe should maintain a suitable slope to prevent wastewater from accumulating in the pipe; the drainage should be lower than the position of the ice cube machine drain port, or a drainage pump should be installed to lift the wastewater to a higher drainage pipe. After the installation is completed, a drainage test should be carried out to check whether the drainage is unobstructed and whether there is any leakage.


Regular inspection: Prevent the drain pipe from being blocked or leaking, which will affect the normal operation of the machine.


Cooling Tower Installation Location


The cooling tower should be installed outdoors in a dry and ventilated place without any heat source nearby, in order to facilitate the connection of the water inlet and outlet of the ice maker condenser.The installation position should be higher than the water inlet and outlet of the ice maker condenser to prevent the cooling water pump from being emptied and overflowing when it stops. It should be connected to a clean water source with long-term water and sufficient pressure.


Note: When installing the cooling tower, it is necessary to ensure that the inclination of each fan blade is consistent with the inclination direction, tighten the nuts, and ensure that the fan motor is installed in a horizontal position, otherwise the fan blades will be damaged or even the fan motor will be burned!



Debugging and Trial Operation


After the installation is completed, the following debugging steps need to be performed:


Check each interface: confirm whether the water pipe and power cord are connected correctly, firmly without leakage or looseness.


Check the cooling water pump. Look at the direction of the cooling blades of the water pump from top to bottom. If it rotates clockwise, the water pump wiring is correct and you can proceed to the next step. If it rotates counterclockwise, the motor wiring phase sequence is wrong. You need to swap any two of the water pump power cords at the lower end of the FR3 thermal relay in the electrical box and tighten them. Press KM3 again to observe whether the direction is clockwise.


Check the water tower fan. If the fan blades rotate clockwise and the wind blows upward, it is correct. If the fan blades rotate counterclockwise or the wind blows downward, you need to swap any two of the fan power cords at the lower end of the FR4 thermal relay in the electrical box and tighten them. Press KM4 again and observe that the fan turns clockwise and the wind blows upward.


Open the door at the industrial ice machine position to check whether there is any object stuck to each water baffle. If so, please remove it.


After the above inspections are completed, you can turn on the compressor power and start the machine for use (it is recommended to clean the ice mold with clean water for the first use).


Start the machine for trial operation: After starting the machine, observe whether the ice making cycle is normal and whether the ice cubes are formed evenly.


Adjust parameters: According to the ambient temperature and water quality, adjust the ice thickness and output appropriately to achieve the best effect.
