Project Background
June 30, 2024, stretched across the mouth of the Pearl River above the "super project" Shen Zhong Channel officially opened to traffic, broke a number of records in the history of bridges, help the rise of the big bay area, the people of the country is ecstatic, proud of it, but this is far from the end.
Between Humen Bridge and Nansha Bridge, a similar to the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel and another super project Shiziyang Channel is in full swing in the construction process, the total investment in this double-decker motorway is expected to reach 50.4 billion yuan, a total of 34 bridges, the entire length of about 49.25 kilometres, is expected to be completed and open to traffic in 2027, is another national project worthy of the name.
Project Purpose
In the face of such a difficult project, the contractor's requirements for construction quality were almost demanding, and the project team needed to formulate a low-temperature, low-shrinkage, high-crack-resistant, high-quality concrete.
However, in the face of the exothermic physical phenomenon of concrete hydration, the team knew that scientific cooling of concrete was the most critical.
Among the many concrete cooling measures, adding ice cooling became the most effective cooling programme.
By adding appropriate amount of ice in the mixing process, the concrete pouring temperature was firmly controlled within 28℃, so as to meet the requirements of concrete solidification temperature
Project Configuration
As a professional ice machine manufacturer, Icemedal Refrigeration has developed a set of intelligent, automated concrete ice cooling system, which is running stably in a contract section of the construction of Shiziyang Channel.
This ice cooling system is equipped with a 30 tons flake ice machine, which is located in the highest position of the whole system, and is installed with an intelligent ice storage cold storage, which is equipped with an automatic ice raking system. And then through the multi-stage screw conveying system, the ice will be continuously sent to the material conveyor belt in the mixing station, thus realising all the processes of automatic ice cooling for concrete, providing professional refrigeration technical support for the high-standard construction of the Shiziyang Channel.
Project Introduction
During the project implementation,Icemedal Refrigeration formed a delivery team consisting of a project manager, refrigeration engineers, system integrators, and implementation workers. They stayed at the mixing station for a month to carry out installation and commissioning, and adjusted and optimized system details many times according to the actual needs of customers.
Ultimately, they met and exceeded all technical standards, successfully completed the acceptance and delivery, and became the patron saint of the high-standard concrete pouring of the Shiziyang Channel.
In a few years, the completed Shiziyang Corridor will become another beautiful business card of the Guangdong,Hong Kong ,Macao Greater Bay Area, following the Hong Kong, Zhuhai, Macao Bridge, Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage, and Humen Bridge, injecting new vitality into the prosperous development of the Greater Bay Area and setting a benchmark for more giant concrete pouring projects in the future.
